FAQs

What is skin tightening?

Injecting Confidence uses SkinTyte™ technology to effectively tighten loose, sagging skin. SkinTyte is a device that delivers infrared light energy to coagulate soft tissue and boost your body’s collagen production. Collagen is a major protein that helps make your skin resilient, taut, and smooth.

What areas can you tighten?

SkinTyte treatments can be used on areas like the face, neck, abdomen, and arms. The energy targets deep and superficial tissue to result in optimal firming.

Why might I need skin tightening?

Looser, more lax skin is a natural effect of aging. Genetics factor in too!

Other reasons you may develop wrinkles and lax skin include:

  • Drastic weight loss

  • Smoking

  • Alcoholism

  • Sun exposure

Katie evaluates your degree of skin laxity and/or wrinkling and then formulates a comprehensive treatment plan. In addition to SkinTyte treatments, she may recommend other interventions like high-quality skin care products and/or dermal fillers.

How does skin tightening work?

Skin tightening treatments boost your body’s ability to produce elastin and collagen - fibrous proteins that give your tissue elasticity and firmness. As you age, you produce fewer of these proteins, and your skin folds and droops as a result.

The advanced infrared light technology penetrates deep into your tissues to combat and remove folds and droops while continuously protecting the treated outer layers.

Are skin-tightening treatments painful?

You won’t need a topical anesthetic for skin-tightening treatments - the sessions are virtually pain-free. The energy is delivered in rapid, gentle pulses, so you feel only tingling that’s well-tolerated.

When will I see the results from skin-tightening treatments?

It takes time for the effects of infrared light therapy to lead to changes in your skin. Because your body needs time to develop new collagen and elastin, it may take several weeks for your results to develop. It typically takes 2 - 4 treatments for optimal results
